Candidiasis more commonly known as thrush, is an infection caused by a fungus or yeast called Candida albicans.. This fungus is usually found in the skin, mouth, stomach, intestines and vagina. Candidia is managed by the immune system and causes a problem when the yeast overgrows. This takes place when the immune system is weakened because of illness, stress or overuse of antibiotics which can harm the normal flora of the body.
